  • Volunteers return home safely

The 38degree Educational Program volunteers have returned home safe from their stay in Ghana and Kenya. The team focused on key success drivers of the program including: forming strong local partnerships, structuring local processes that emphasize the need for self-determination. Volunteers were hosted by community partners and their time with these partners allowed them to truly observe and understand the community involvement necessary to make the program a success. The 38degree volunteers worked with local partners to further refine the mentoring and tutoring elements of the program. Volunteers met with all students involved in the program and encouraged prospective student to perform to the best of their abilities and dream 'big dreams'. Our Volunteers also met with the community elders, parents and school staff to plan for 2010 in Ghana and Kenya. We thank the volunteers for their commitment and financial investment to the 38degrees Program. In due course, all educational-partners will be afforded the opportunity to visit Ghana and Kenya with the 38degrees program. On behalf of the 38degree volunteers - thank you for your support.
